Get The Ball To the High Post

Get The Ball To the High Post

If 1 has an angle he can pass directly to 5. In most cases a better passing angle can be obtained by passing to 3 however.

After 5 gets the ball 1 needs to slide away so that his defender doesn't harass 5 in the high post.

Once 5 has the ball then 4 sets a high back-screen for 2. The farther the screen is away from the basket the more room 2 has to work with.

Reset For Zone

Reset For Zone

If the backdoor pass isn't there and the defense is playing a zone then 2 continues on through and takes his place on the wing. 3 moves to the point, 4 drops down to the corner and 1 takes his place on the wing.

5 gets the ball to 1 and 2 begins setting his defender up for the screen that will come from 3. You can now run the basic zone offense.

Reset For Man

Reset For Man

If the backdoor pass isn't there and the defense is playing a man then 2 continues on through and takes his place on the wing. 3 moves to the point, 4 drops down to the low post and 1 takes his place on the wing. 5 passes the ball to a wing and drops down to the low post.

You are now in the 3-2 set and 2 can drop down to set his man up for the screen from 3. 4 and 5 begin screening away.
